Quality assurance of stem cell lines
One of the most important tasks
of a cell culture laboratory is to ensure that the quality of the provided
material is produced in a safe and efficient manner. The main areas of our quality
control include the provenance and integrity of the cell lines, the quality of
reagents and materials and the avoidance of microbial contamination. In
addition, a good cell banking practice and master cell banking system is
established in order to minimize potential risk factors, e.g. loss of
characteristics of interest. This implementation ensures consistent quality of
the material for highly reproducible results, retaining the original cell
culture characteristics and the culturing of cells only when required.
Furthermore, a regular monitoring of the laboratory environment and equipment,
a SOP-based cultivation and a regular investigation of the viability and
marker-expression of cells is performed.
